I told you all I was going to start writing more. I’m a girl who sticks to her word! Now watch me not post anything for 82 years!

I thought I’d just give a little run through of some things I’ve been really liking recently, fashion, beauty, lifestyle- the lot!

IMG_1724

I wrote about this the other day (read that post here) and how much I love it so I won’t go on too much again. Really affordable, seems to last forever, does wonders! If you are thinking about buying a new primer, I’d recommend this one.

IMG_1770

This is the first Barry M product I’ve ever used. I needed a new mascara and I thought I’d give this Feature Length one a go. I really didn’t get on with it for the first few weeks as it was really wet but it is drying out now and it gives a nice fluttery and quite natural lash look. If you were going to try this, give it a few weeks before you judge it too harshly.

IMG_1771

The Ordinary is another brand I’d never tried (I’d never even heard of it to be honest). I was just looking for a new foundation to try on Beauty Bay and I came across this which had pretty good reviews. I like a lightweight foundation and this is really lightweight, perfect for when you don’t need too much coverage but still want a little bit.

I keep seeing the boiler-suit trend everywhere and people look so cool in them, I didn’t think I could pull it off as well as other people but I wanted to give it a go! I found this khaki green corduroy one from Pretty Little Thing which wasn’t too expensive. Absolutely love it! It looks really cool and makes a very easy outfit. I did size up with mine as I didn’t want it too tight but it looks like a sack of potatoes if I didn’t put a belt on (mine is a size 14) so I would either size down or get your normal size.

continentals

My Adidas Continental 80s have been my go-to shoe since I got them a couple of months ago. Dead easy to wear because they go with pretty much everything, a bit pricey but worth it considering how much I wear them! (I didn’t take a photo of my pair as they are in dire need of a bit of a clean.)

One of my current favourite films is Nowhere Boy, its the story of John Lennon as a teenager. It isn’t new or anything (I think it came out about 2009) I just watched it recently and it is so good. I think it also helps that Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been one of my biggest celeb crushes since I first watched Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, just look at him!

Talking of celeb crushes, Sam Fender has been a favourite of mine recently (both his looks and his music). His songwriting is incredible, my favourites of his are Poundshop Kardashians and Leave Fast. Definitely check some of his stuff out.

Another music favourite has been Two Door Cinema Club’s new song Talk. My brother and I are going to see them on their tour in October and I am very excited!

Let me know if you check out any of my recommendations!

MUA Pro/Base Primer Review

I have been so awful at blogging this year and I literally have zero excuses! I need to get back in the game! Hopefully I’ll have some more motivation soon.

Some people may be horrified at the fact that, before a month ago or so, I had never used a primer. I know everybody says how important primer is so I thought I’d buy myself a cheap one to see if it actually makes any difference before I splash out on a pricier one.

IMG_1724.jpg

I got this one because I definitely didn’t one with oil in, my T-zone can get very oily which sometimes causes my makeup to crease and move about. If you are the same I would go for something like this because this has really helped. I just use a little pea sized amount and rub it in to my T-zone, it dries really quickly which is good as I was worried I would be sat waiting for my face to dry for ages before I could actually start on my makeup! I have noticed my makeup staying on for much longer, especially on the bridge of my nose where my glasses used to make my makeup smudge and slide everywhere.

If you are like how I used to be and think primers are a waste of time and money, try one out! This one was dead cheap and actually works a charm!

Revolution Liquid Highlighter Review

It feels like I haven’t written a blog post in absolutely ages! It is weird going from making sure there was a post going up every single day to not blogging for over a month! But I am back and better than ever (kidding, I’m back and basically the same I was in 2018).

I treated myself to a little Beauty Bay order last week and I thought I would review one of the items I got, there may be a few other reviews of other bits I’ve bought coming soon as well.

IMG_1424

Revolution is one of my favourite makeup brands, super affordable and actually very good quality. This highlighter is no exception! The packaging is really nice, the bottle is a champagne colour (to match the actual product which I got in Liquid Champagne) with a rose gold top. It also comes with a little pipette which is quite handy in applying it and dotting it on your face to blend in. I find blending with your finger is the best way.

Here is the product without flash and with flash, this is only one light layer and it shows up really well. Less is definitely more with this! But if you really like a bright, dazzling highlight it is really easy to build up, a really nice product that can be a bit more natural for everyday and really snazzy for going out and more glam looks.

I’d never really tried a liquid highlighter before but I would definitely recommend this if you are looking to try one. It was only about £4 or £5 and I feel like it will last me forever!

Blogmas Day 23- Superdrug Makeup Look Part 2

A couple of days ago I showed you a makeup look that I did with some bits I got in my Superdrug Flutter advent calendar, I have been experimenting with the other eyeshadow quad that I got so i thought i’d show you a shimmery, pinky look.

IMG_1308

IMG_1315

I don’t often use pink tones when I do eyeshadow so this little quad is really handy to have, I used the 3 pink shades in this look. The middle pink all over, the more burgundy one in the outer third and the really shimmery pale pink right in the inner part. I blended it all out with a tiny bit of a matte light brown, I also used the Superdrug Flutter mascara from the advent calendar which is really nice if you like really natural, fluttery lashes.

The pigment isn’t great, I was a bit disappointed compared to how good the matte shades are in the other quad. But it isn’t awful, if you just wanted a bit of shimmer rather than really bright eyeshadow they are quite nice.

Blogmas Day 20- Superdrug Makeup Look

If you saw my Superdrug Flutter advent calendar post the other day, you will know that I had a few makeup bits to try out so I thought I’d show you the eye look I created with the shadows and the pigment.

The colours of the eyeshadow and the pigment are very me shades, the pigment is a copper/orange shade which feels like it belongs in my Morphe 35R palette. The quad I used had a matte cream which is a very useful base, a matte light brown which is the perfect crease shade, a matte burnt orange and a shimmery dark brown.

I love a burnt orange toned eyeshadow look and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the eyeshadow. The matte orange is pretty pigmented and blends out like a dream but I was disappointed with the pigment. I used a damp brush to apply it but it doesn’t look any better than shimmer eyeshadows, I was expecting a pigment to wow me a bit more but it looks nice. I will probably opt for shimmer eyeshadows in the future, they are a lot less messy than pigments!

Please ignore how messy my brows are, I really need to go and get them done!

Blogmas Day 17- Superdrug Flutter 12 Day Advent Calendar

I wanted to try a beauty advent calendar this year but no way did I want to spend 50 quid just before the most expensive month! Luckily when I was browsing the Superdrug website I saw this Superdrug 12 day advent calendar that was on sale for only £8! I am currently writing this on the 13th so I finished it yesterday and I thought I’d show you all what I got.

I was slightly disappointed at how un-Christmassy the packaging was and it does give me quite cheap and tacky vibes, I’m always a fan of sleek and sophisticated packaging! But I do like the fact that it opens like a book with the 12 doors inside.

IMG_1239

The calendar includes 2 lip glosses, a lip cream, a lipstick, 2 blushers, 2 eyeshadow quads, an eyeshadow pigment, a mascara, a nail polish and a nail file. I have tried a few bites out and so far I am pretty surprised but in a very good way!

Expect a few little reviews coming soon, I am especially excited to try my first ever eyeshadow pigment.

Also we only have a week of Blogmas left! Go me!

Blogmas Day 11- Gold/Purple Shimmery Eye Look

We all know my makeup skills are next to nothing but I was having a little play around earlier and I quite liked the end result!

In real life it looks a lot darker and stronger and shimmery so sorry for bad camera quality making it look rubbish! I just put a purpley toned brown through the outer corner and crease then put a shimmery pink/purple in the outer half to blend that with the darker purple. I found my brightest, most shimmery gold and put it the on the inner half of my eyelid and then blended it all together.

It was really simple, just took a bit of building up to get the right amount of the different shades. If you have blue eyes like me, this is great because the golds and the pinky shades make your eyes look really bright blue!

I might do makeup like this if I have any Christmas parties or celebrations to go to.

Blogmas Day 10- Simple Micellar Water Review

Apologies for 2 days of reviews in a row! About a year ago I reviewed Simple micellar water (read the post here) and I was quite disappointed. But they have changed the packaging and I’m pretty sure they have changed the actual product because I’m not disappointed this time!

IMG_1194

As you all know, I love a good micellar water and my favourite one is Garnier. I’m always looking out for ones that can replace my go-to! Simple is a brand I can trust, sounds daft but I feel like I know their products are good for my skin. This cleansing water is absolutely brilliant at face makeup, takes all traces of foundation off and leaves my skin feeling really soft and nice. It isn’t that great at eye makeup, I think it is a bit too soft for that. I find myself using so much product to try and get all my mascara off.

To conclude, I really like this for everything other than trying to remove eye makeup! So I think I will go back to my classic Garnier micellar water but keep this for extra skin cleansing.

Blogmas Day 9- Seventeen Stay Time Foundation Review

I’ve never tried anything from Seventeen before and I am never a big fan of full coverage foundation, so I did not have the best hopes for this foundation! I was given it back in the Summer when my face was slightly too tanned for it but I am back to my pale self and I’ve been using this quite a bit recently.

IMG_1193

You can see that I’ve been using it a fair bit because of the state it’s in! It has quite a thick consistency so I thought it would be really hard to blend out but it blends out really nicely (I use a damp sponge if you were wondering). Although it is really thick and does give full coverage, it doesn’t feel heavy on your face which is brilliant! I haven’t worn it for 25 hours like it promises (who actually wears makeup for 25 hours?!) but it does stay on all day without budging so that’s great!

If you have dry skin this probably isn’t for you as it is very matte but absolutely brilliant for if you have oilier skin.

I’m definitely recommending this for any Christmas parties!

Rimmel Scandaleyes Wow Wings Mascara Review

I’m back with a classic  makeup review post after about a million random chatty posts, although all of my posts are pretty chatty!

I bought this new Rimmel mascara a week ago or so and I just thought I’d let you know my thoughts on it.

unnamed (1)

I chose the Scandaleyes Wow Wings mascara because I had heard a lot of good things about the original Scandaleyes mascara and because I am drawn to anything holographic! Although usually I prefer makeup that comes in sleek and sophisticated packaging, I do love this chunky packaging with the holo lettering. You can’t see in photos, but the purple lid also has a slight pearlescent effect to it which is really pretty.

unnamed

It is called Wow Wings because one side of the wand is slightly winged out. I assume this is meant to wing out your outer corner lashes but I really don’t think it does anything. I did have high hopes for this because I always see gorgeous false lashes with really fluttery, winged out lashes, but sadly glasses and falsies don’t mix very well!

unnamed (2)

This is what the mascara looks like. At first it was very wet and I never get on well with really wet mascaras but after about a week it had dried up a bit and I do really like it. It doesn’t give a very winged effect but it gives both length and volume. It can get slightly spidery and clumpy sometimes, you have to apply a good amount for it to look good. I think for a drugstore mascara it is very good, I think it only cost me about a fiver from Tesco!

If you are into really natural looking makeup I would recommend this E.L.F mascara instead as it isn’t as heavy as this one.
